On Sunday, August 16th, 2026, at 2:00 PM, our mission station will be attending the Polish National Catholic Church (PNCC) Mass held at 3208 W. 3rd St., Duluth, MN. We want every member of our community to know about this meaningful opportunity, plan ahead, and join us as we worship together in a spirit of unity and faith.

This is more than a trip across town. It is a shared act of devotion, a chance to experience a rich liturgical tradition, and an opportunity to grow closer as a faith community.

What Is the PNCC?

The Polish National Catholic Church is an independent Catholic denomination with roots going back to 1897, when it was founded by Bishop Francis Hodur in Scranton, Pennsylvania. The PNCC upholds the seven sacraments, a reverent Mass rooted in the Western tradition, and a deep commitment to scripture and congregational participation.

A few things that make the PNCC Mass distinctive:

  • The Mass is celebrated in the vernacular, making it accessible and prayerful for all present

  • General absolution is extended to the whole congregation during the Penitential Rite

  • The liturgy holds a strong connection to pre-Vatican II Western Rite traditions while remaining welcoming and participatory

  • The "Word of God" is recognized as a distinct sacrament, placing scripture at the heart of worship

For many who attend, the experience is both familiar and beautifully unique. Whether you have worshipped in a traditional Catholic setting before or are exploring liturgical Christianity for the first time, the PNCC Mass offers a grounded and moving experience of communal faith.

Why We Are Going as a Mission Station

As a mission station, we are called to grow, to serve, and to connect with the broader Body of Christ. Attending this Mass together is a natural expression of that calling. It gives us the chance to:

  • Worship as one community beyond the walls of our own gathering space

  • Build relationships with fellow believers in the Duluth area

  • Experience the richness of a sister tradition rooted in apostolic faith

  • Deepen our own understanding of liturgical worship and its power to draw us closer to God

Going together matters. There is something powerful about walking through the doors of a church as a group, sitting side by side, and lifting our voices in prayer with people we know and love. This is one of those moments.
